Duo exhibition 2011 - Mission accomplished... thanks to friends and art lovers in the Montreal area!

This year, I decided to do a duo exhibition with Claude Landry, a Montreal artist that I got to know better over the last couple of years through weekly Tai Chi classes in the West Island of Montreal. Merci Claude for your partnership!

As usual, the installation part went like a breeze owing to two former "Princesses of the Nile" (a troop of baladi dancers): Nicole ( my so-called "muse") and Rita. They both participated in my two previous shows in this venue, so they are quite experienced! Their creativity is handy when it comes to the placement of paintings.

Here is the installation completed (you may click on any slide to view in a larger format)...

In 2010, I used two female models for my series on Yoga and women's eyes (the two middle upper pictures in this collage, Geneviève and Val). Beyond the inspiration that they provided me, they nicely complemented our efforts to diffuse any pertinent information about our planned exhibition. It appears that our synergy as a team was perfect since close to 100 people showed up at the vernissage!

Barrie McCleod , a successful fashion photographer from Montreal and a friend of Claude Landry, was nice enough to make himself available during a good part of the evening. His photographic record stands out to say the least (this is but a very partial selection)....

A special thank you to Lyne, coordinator at the Pierrefonds cultural center, and all staff members at the center who helped in the organizational aspect of this event. Lyne, you literally blew my top off when I saw one of the four giant electronic billboards advertizing the exhibition...

In closing, a special thank you as well to everyone who came at the exhibition and to those who decided to acquire one of my paintings. Your appreciation for my art touches me profoundly. Moreover, your feedback was invaluable to me and will be a great source of motivation for the elaboration of my future series. À la prochaine!!!!

Amber, you're the one who gave me confidence during my first few years with acrylics... even though I feel quite comfortable with the medium now, I will never forget that very fact... I'm glad you're planning even more activities for yourself in the art arena... makes me feel stronger in a way!
