Some more exploration on the use of fluid paint...

This summer, I have continued my exploration with free-flowing acrylic paints and inks...

 

Some of these works are in preparation for an October 2019 exhibition: "Regards et transparence" to be announced shortly. The title reflects the general fascination for human eyes and the techniques that I used in the realization of these works.

Probing deeper into a new approach...

My recent works have seen a gradual intensification in color and contrast, the last painting being some sort of an apex...
 

I'm still seeking a better balance between opacity and transparency, acrylic colors and acrylic inks, total coverage of canvas and partial coverage of canvas...

A gradual switch to more intense colors...

My last three paintings illustrate my recent move towards brighter colors (even pure colors) to jazz up my work after a relatively long period of calm...




I've continued to build on my use of vertical and horizontal lines as a means to express movement. I let the paint flow in total freedom welcoming any "happy accident' along the way!

P.S. Over the last few years, I often used pastel/attenuated colors as a means to tone down my sometimes more aggressive painting subjects...

An exploration of horizontal lines...

Piggybacking on the look of my recent paintings, I painted a number of subjects letting acrylic colors and inks flow horizontally and vertically to create movement. A new style seems to be emerging...
