The second half of 2023 has seen some meandering on my part...

After numerous attempts to develop a new painting approach in 2023, I am finally evolving towards painting one brush stroke at a time except for large surfaces. Mixing impasto and fluid paint techniques remains an objective. I started using turquoise underpainting a while back, and lately, I've made a special effort to retain some of that underpainting in my finished works... I kind of like the effect! We'll see what 2024 brings in the way of new developments!

A mixed bag of techniques and styles in the first half of 2023...

During the first half of 2023, I toyed with abstraction and pure figuration using free flowing paint, impasto paint and even collage...

Experimenting with different techniques...

During the second half of 2022, I experimented with spray paint, acrylic inks (black, blue green and brown), opaque and transparent paint application, loose style application...

After many years of pure figuration, going free style (the last one) becomes more and more irresistible!

The use of spray paint in my recent works...

During the summertime, I reintroduced faces into my works for variety. When working with the human figure, I started amalgamating different contexts within the same painting to create some ambiguity and add interest (click on the image to visit my website)...

More recently, I started using spray paint as an effort to get closer to street artists and as a challenge...

Latest works...

The last few months have seen a variety of subjects even including a collaboration with my partner in crime Nicole who specializes in pouring techniques. I also started mixing acrylic modeling paste with acrylic gel to enhance colors one iota. By clicking on the image you will access these works on my Web site:

Recent works...

My recent works still focus somewhat on textures, but a preoccupation for more colors is slowly manifesting itself... after a long monochromatic period...

Last works exploring textures....

Over the last few months, lines, textures and colors have been on my mind, at times with political overtones ...

I'm trying to tap my inner self...
